terms of service

1. Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy

Because our workshops are kept small to ensure a high-quality experience, materials are purchased and staff is secured based on registration numbers.

  • Cancellations & Refunds: Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled workshop will receive a full refund or a credit toward a future class.

  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the workshop are non-refundable, as we cannot easily fill the spot on short notice. If your child is sick, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss credit options.

  • Low Enrollment: Art Talk reserves the right to cancel a workshop if minimum enrollment is not met. In the rare event of a cancellation by Art Talk, families will be notified immediately and issued a 100% refund.

2. Liability, Safety & Health Policy

By registering your child for an Art Talk workshop, you agree to the following terms:

  • Recreational Nature of Classes: You acknowledge that Art Talk workshops are strictly recreational and enrichment-based. While founded by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists, these workshops do not constitute clinical speech therapy, medical treatment, or formal diagnostic services.

  • Allergies & Medical Conditions: Parents/guardians must disclose any allergies, sensitivities, or special needs during the registration process. While we strive to use non-toxic, child-safe art materials, Art Talk and its host venue (Modern Munchkin Co.) cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.

  • Release of Liability: You agree to release, waive, and hold harmless Art Talk, its founders (Shannon Farho and Joy Pennington), and the host venue (Modern Munchkin Co.) from any liability for personal injury, property damage, or accidental loss occurring during or as a result of participation in our workshops.

3. Photo & Media Release

By registering for and participating in an Art Talk workshop, you grant Art Talk permission to capture and use photographs or video recordings of your child taken during the session. These visuals are used strictly for promotional purposes, including the Art Talk website, social media accounts, and marketing materials. Art Talk is committed to child safety and privacy; therefore, no last names or identifying personal information will ever be attached to these images or videos.

If you prefer that your child not be photographed or featured in any media, you may officially opt out by selecting the appropriate option on our digital client intake form prior to the start of class.

4. Privacy Policy

Art Talk values your privacy. We only collect the personal information necessary to process your registration and safely run our workshops (such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, and child intake notes).

Your payment information is securely processed directly through Stripe, a leading global payment platform; Art Talk never stores your credit card details on our servers. We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
